Mamanuca Island Resorts

ONE of the most popular resort vacation regions in Fiji are the Mamanuca Islands. This sun-kissed island group can be seen from the mainland at Nadi, which is the location of Fiji's main international airport. This means that the Mamanucas can be quickly accessed, either by air, boat transfer or chartered helicopter or seaplane. Two of the islands have air-strips - Malolo Lailai and Mana. The islands are blessed with white sand beaches and range from small atolls to larger islands of volcanic origin. The film 'Cast Away' with Tom Hanks was filmed on Modriki (mon-dree-ki), an island in the far north of the Mamanucas. This region is ideal for honeymoon vacation, family holidays, tropical Fiji weddings and general getaways.
